Inga Likšaitė

Inga Likšaitė (born 1972) is a representative of visual arts, concentrating and narrowing her creative practice to the field of textiles. Primarily working solo, Inga periodically engages in collaborations with artists from other media, architects, and interior designers. Born in Kaunas, Lithuania, in 1972, she is currently based in Berlin. Since 2000, her works have participated in numerous exhibitions and have been acquired for private and museum collections in Lithuania and Europe.

Over the years, Inga has found and continues to develop her unique aesthetic. Her textile works are often recognized for their minimal motifs, rhythmic stitches, and monochromatic fabrics that are sewn or embroidered. Sometimes, these pieces are integrated into spatial installations or transformed into moving images with sound in collaboration with fellow creators. The works of Inga, which require much patience and time to execute, though diverse, often echo previous pieces.

Each of them serves as a prototype for the next, collectively generating their own artistic territory where Inga discovers intriguing transformations in her creative process.
